From April 9, Russia resumes flights to more than 50 countries

“Northern City” – Russia from April 9 resumes flights with 52 friendly countries and cancels previously imposed restrictions due to COVID-19. This was stated by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with the United Russia faction, TASS reports.

Recall that since March 27, 2020, Russia has stopped regular and charter flights with other countries due to the pandemic. An exception was made for export, cargo, postal, sanitary and humanitarian flights.

Now, according to Mikhail Mishustin, the incidence of coronavirus is on the decline, and therefore it is possible to expand the list of destinations that are available to Russian air carriers.
“From April 9, we are lifting restrictions on the fight against coronavirus infection, which applied to our regular and charter flights between Russia and a number of other countries,” the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation said.

Restrictions will be lifted on flights to the following states: Algeria, Argentina, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Venezuela, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Israel, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, China, North Korea, Costa Rica, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lesotho, Mauritius, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Mozambique, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Oman, Pakistan, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Serbia, Syria, Thailand, Tanzania, Tunisia , Turkey, Uruguay, Fiji, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, South Africa and Jamaica.

Vice-President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) Yuri Barzykin noted that this is a positive step, thanks to which both charter and regular flights will be resumed, as well as opportunities will open up for the formation of routes, selection of boards, companies and partners.
It should be noted that Russia has already lifted restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 on irregular and regular flights to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Iran on a reciprocal basis. Coronavirus restrictions on flights to Belarus, the Dominican Republic, Egypt (except Cairo), the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Finland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, South Korea and Cuba were also completely lifted.

Since March 14, Russia has restored air links with China and Indonesia: it is planned to operate flights from Moscow to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai once a week and flights from Moscow to Denpasar three times a week.

In addition, as reported in the operational headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus, from April 9, restrictions on entry and exit through the land border with China will cease to apply.
Earlier, Severny Gorod said that Russians are offered foreign trips for issuing Visa and Mastercard cards: a new trend has appeared in the tourism sector – bank tours; anti-covid documents are no longer needed to enter the Maldives – unvaccinated tourists will be accommodated in hotels where 95 percent of the staff are vaccinated; Rostourism ends sales of tours with cashback in Russia ahead of schedule – in total, more than 1.2 million people have used the program since the beginning of 2022; in 2022, for the first time, inter-regional summer tours in Siberia will be launched – their duration will be from five to eight days, depending on the route.
