THE RUSSIAN-EMIRATES BUSINESS COUNCIL SUMMARIZED THE RESULTS OF WORK IN 2021

 

REBC Chairman Sergey Gorkov opened the meeting and presented the Council’s plans for 2022, including the launch of the “Russia-UAE Business Navigator”, the creation of a tender monitoring system in the UAE and GCC countries for REBC members, the organization of business missions of Russian regions in the UAE and holding industry meetings on blockchain and fintech, healthy food and medicine, construction and investment, as well as many other initiatives.

Alexander Kopkov, Director of the Foreign Relations Department of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, positively assessed the work of the Council, noting the positive dynamics in the development of relations between Russia and the UAE and the increased trade turnover.

Executive Director of REDS, General Director of Incona Alexey Busev presented a report on the activities of the Council for 2021. Over the past year, REBC members held 5 industry meetings, establishing partnerships with government agencies and companies in Russia and the UAE.

With the support of the Council, business missions were organized in the UAE for the Moscow Export Center, exporters from the Altai Territory, Kirov, Novgorod and a number of other regions, as well as events were held for the Emirati administrations and companies in Russia, including the Sharjah Emirate Week in Russia and a business mission Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).

The information partner of the Russian-Emirates Business Council in 2021 was the Big Asia TV channel. The activities of REDS were widely covered on the website and on the air of the media resource. TV programs about the “Week of the Emirate of Sharjah in Russia” and the business mission of the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) were prepared.

In the coming year 2022, the Big Asia TV channel will continue to cover Russian-Emirati cooperation, including telling the audience about the activities of the Russian-Emirati Business Council.

At the first meeting of REBC 2022, a b2b marketplace project for Russian and UAE companies “Business Navigator Russia-UAE” was announced. It has already received a positive response from the Emirates partners and will be launched this year. The platform will help to collect in a single space up-to-date and reliable information about the products of Russian and UAE companies interested in cooperation, providing an opportunity to communicate directly and thereby expedite the conclusion of contracts.

Constructive proposals on the work of the Council were made by representatives of the Moscow Government, Sberbank, PharmaGlobal and other REBC members.

In addition, the meeting approved the principles for the formation of the organizational structure of the Council and its composition.
