India and the UAE will take part in SPIEF-2022 at the level of state ministers
India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will take part in the XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) next week. According to media reports, state ministers of the countries will arrive in the northern capital.
As reported on June 10, citing a source in the government of India, RIA Novosti news agency, in the period from June 15 to 18, the head of the country’s health ministry, Mansukh Mandavia, will visit the international economic forum in St. Petersburg. The UAE delegation to SPIEF should be headed by Thani bin Ahmed al-Zeyoudi.
“The State Minister for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates will lead a delegation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum,” an anonymous TASS source quoted as saying.
Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik and Afghan Chargé d’Affaires in Moscow Jamal Nasir Garwal also announced their intention to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. In turn, Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska announced that he would miss the event due to the harvest.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak in person at the SPIEF plenary session.
The meeting with his participation is scheduled for June 17. At the beginning of this week, the head of state addressed the organizers and participants of the forum, in which he spoke about the “long-term mistakes of Western countries in economic policy” and expressed confidence that the 2020s for Russia will become a period of strengthening economic sovereignty.
According to the Roscongress Foundation, as of June 1, over 2,700 business representatives have confirmed their participation in SPIEF 2022. At the same time, more than 1,000 companies will be represented at the level of managers, and representatives of all Russian regions have confirmed their participation. As DP reported earlier, some representatives of large foreign companies asked the organizers of the forum to hide their place of work, fearing sanctions due to participation in the event.
