UAE and Russia highlight the depth of strategic relationship over five decades

ABU DHABI, 8 December 2021 (WAM) – The United Arab Emirates and the Russian Federation have highlighted the depth of the historical and strategic relationship that unites the two friendly countries based on a legacy of constructive and fruitful cooperation spanning five decades.

This year, the UAE and the Russian Federation are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, exchanged congratulatory messages.

The UAE and the Russian Federation have strong, well-established and developed strategic relations and are united by a fruitful strategic partnership that embodies the common will of both friendly countries to further develop these relations in order to achieve a prosperous and sustainable future for the two friendly countries.
Emirati-Russian relations have seen a quantum leap after the announcement of a strategic partnership between the two countries in 2018. Cooperation between the two countries has been strengthened in many areas of common interest due to the sensitivity of their leadership.
