Russia proposes to deepen economic cooperation within the CIS

The main issue at the upcoming May 20 meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be the deepening of economic cooperation between the Commonwealth countries, First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Leonid Anfimov said on April 26, BelTA reports.

“The main issue, of course, will be the question recently introduced by the Russian side of deepening economic cooperation between the CIS countries to counter the sanctions policy of third countries and their associations,” said the first deputy head of the CIS Executive Committee, quoted by BelTA.

There is a group working under the CIS Economic Council that constantly monitors the situation that has arisen in connection with sanctions unfriendly actions by third countries.

At a meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the Commonwealth countries, issues of preparation for the upcoming meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers, which is scheduled for May 13 in Dushanbe, and the Council of CIS Heads of Government will be considered.

At the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Belarusian application for the status of the base notary organization of the CIS for the Belarusian Chamber of Notaries will be considered, Anfimov said.
