Russia and Qatar will sign a memorandum on cooperation in the field of sports

Russia and Qatar will sign a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of sports. The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin met on this occasion with his Qatari counterpart Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali. It is noteworthy that at the end of the meeting, the Russian delegation got acquainted with the activities of the anti-doping laboratory in Doha (Qatar).

“The parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral sports cooperation, and also exchanged experience and best practices in the field of physical culture and sports of both states.
The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation informed the Qatari side about the measures taken by the state to develop the sports industry, involve the population in sports, and develop regulations governing the field of physical culture and sports. During the meeting, the parties also discussed preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha.

The result of the meeting was the agreement of the parties on the completion of work on the coordination of an interdepartmental memorandum on Russian-Qatari cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports with a view to its further signing, ”the official website of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation reports.
