Leading Russian museums to hold exhibitions in the UAE in 2022
The projects are being implemented by the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Fanagoria and Tsarskoe Selo museums
MOSCOW, October 26. / TASS /. Leading Russian museums, including the Tretyakov Gallery and Tsarskoye Selo, will hold exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2022, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Culture said on Tuesday.
“The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation is planning to hold a large-scale cultural event. At the beginning of 2022, leading Russian museums will present multimedia exhibitions and presentation sessions, ”the press service quoted the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova as saying after a working meeting between the head of the department and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates Mohammad Ahmad Aljaber. The parties discussed cooperation in the field of culture, the organization of joint projects, including within the framework of Expo 2020 in Dubai.
As noted by Lyubimova, the designated projects are organized by the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Fanagoria Museum-Reserve and Tsarskoe Selo. It is also planned to hold a presentation session of the State Hermitage and lectures on Russian art.
In addition, the Minister of Culture thanked the UAE Embassy in Moscow for assistance in organizing the screening of items from the Polytechnic Museum within the framework of the World Exhibition. The exhibits of the institution will be exhibited at the site of the Russian pavilion from November 10, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
According to Lyubimova, another event in which Russian organizations will take part will be the “World Cultural Heritage Week in Sharjah”: from November 21 to November 25, the Russian delegation will present the best examples of Russia’s intangible cultural heritage. “Our museum community, despite all the difficulties associated with the pandemic, has expressed a desire to take part and is very actively preparing for the event,” the minister added.
