Exporters of Dagestan intend to increase supplies to the UAE by $300,000.
The volume of Dagestan’s exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is planned to increase by $300,000 in 2022. At the end of 2021, this figure amounted to $811,000, which is 16 times more than the results of the previous 2020, Ruslan Abaskuliev, head of the Export Support Center of the Republic of Dagestan, said on Friday.
“If in 2020 we had one contract with the UAE for $50,000, then in 2021 the volume of exports from Dagestan to the UAE amounted to $811,000, that is, the volume increased 16 times. According to our modest forecasts, this year exports will increase by at least another $300,000 (in the UAE – TASS note). Today they are interested in our lamb, our juices, honey,” Abaskuliev said.
In particular, Dagestan producers will start supplying the UAE with urbech, a superfood made from seeds. “Currently, the contract is at the stage of signing, we are engaged in its support,” Abaskuliev explained, adding that the first batch of Dagestan urbech will amount to 500 tons.
“They were also interested in our furniture. We have door manufacturers – they (partners from the UAE – TASS note) asked for copies of this furniture, they want to show it on the spot. They are satisfied with the price, but they want to test the quality,” Abaskuliev said.
In January, a delegation from the United Arab Emirates visited Dagestan. During the visit, the Arab partners got acquainted with the products of Dagestan manufacturers and expressed their readiness to develop cooperation.
