Cooperation between Russia and the UAE in the field of global energy security discussed in Moscow

Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday that Abu Dhabi intends to continue cooperation with Russia on global energy security.
The UAE Foreign Minister said he plans to discuss in Moscow the crises prevailing in Ukraine, Syria, Yemen and Iraq, Reuters reported.

The UAE Foreign Minister’s visit to Moscow comes one day after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s visit to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Johnson tried to convince the Gulf countries of the need to increase oil production. Western countries are trying to reduce their dependence on Russian energy supplies.

Last year, Russia and the OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) countries signed a multi-year agreement under which OPEC+ members will increase oil production by 400,000 barrels per day starting in August. The goal is to reach the pre-pandemic level in the field of oil production.
