Russia and Egypt are exploring the possibility of cooperation in the field of gas motor fuel

Representatives of Russia and Egypt in the framework of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF) discussed the prospects for possible cooperation in the field of gas motor fuel, according to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.

“The Russian side is considering the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Egyptian colleagues on the use of natural gas as a gas vehicle fuel,” said Nikolai Shulginov, head of the Russian Ministry of Energy. He also added that “Russian industrial and energy companies are ready to offer their best practices and competencies to work with Egypt in this direction.”

Earlier it was reported that this year’s summit will be held under the slogan “Natural Gas: Defining the Future of Energy” in Doha, Qatar, February 20-22. The ministerial meeting with the participation of the heads of relevant departments will be held on February 21 in person on the eve of the meeting of the heads of state and government of the GECF member countries.

GECF is an intergovernmental organization uniting the world’s leading gas exporters. Currently, the gas coalition unites 20 countries – the leading producers of natural gas, which control 72% of its proven reserves, 46% of production, 55% of pipeline gas exports and 61% of liquefied natural gas supplies.
