The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East is counting on the experience of the UAE in the creation of the satellite city of Vladivostok

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East is counting on the experience of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the construction of new cities, in particular, in the creation of a satellite city in the Vladivostok agglomeration. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Gadzhimagomed Huseynov at the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Emirates Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation in Dubai.
“We are counting on the experience of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in building new cities from scratch. It may be in demand when creating a satellite city in the Primorsky Territory, “the ministry’s press service quotes Huseynov.
The satellite city construction project was presented to Arab investors during the EXPO 2020 exhibition, which is taking place in the UAE. A new settlement is planned to be created on a site with an area of more than 1.4 thousand hectares. The project will be part of the Vladivostok agglomeration with a population of over 1 million people.
“Primorye has a huge potential for this. Favorable climate, proximity to the Asia-Pacific countries, huge opportunities in the field of logistics and tourism, ”Huseynov said.
The project, planned for implementation in the Primorsky Territory, was presented at a multimedia exposition dedicated to the investment potential of the Far East and Arctic regions and organized in the Russian pavilion. The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East said that in the period from October 25 to November 16, the exposition was visited by more than 200 thousand people, including delegations from China, India, Serbia, Colombia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Austria, Malaysia, Belgium, Seychelles, Costa Rica, Italy, Romania, Israel, Mexico, Serbia, Kenya, Lesotho, Vietnam, Brazil, Thailand, representatives of major companies and authorities. In addition, as part of the business program, the guests of the exposition were presented with projects in the transport infrastructure of the Far East and the Arctic, development, aviation, mining, petrochemicals, and energy.
