UAE Crown Prince opens first Expo in Arab region
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the World Expo 2020 could not be held last year. Now it has opened in Dubai – for the first time in an Arab country.
The world exhibition “Expo-2020” has opened with a bright show with a delay of one year in Dubai. “The whole world is gathering in the United Arab Emirates to open Expo 2020 with the blessing of Allah,” said Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Ibn Mohammed Al Maktoum on Thursday evening, September 30, speaking at the opening ceremony.
Costing $ 7 billion to organize the exhibition, it has become the largest event in the world since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. However, this is the first Expo to be held in the Arab region.
The exhibition, which features technological innovations from more than 190 countries, is expected to be attended by 25 million people by the end of March 2022.
The international exhibition was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic and therefore retained the name Expo 2020. It has strict anti-coronavirus rules: all visitors must either be vaccinated or tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
